It's certainly not ideal, I suppose, but it's an option. Two 15 IAS jewels in the helm and a Cat's Eye or Highlords ammy and you're now at the 12 frames bp. Then you could put -15 jewels in the Maul and Armor, to save on those ridiculous str costs. A 15 IAS jewel somewhere (helm I guess) and you'll be at the 13 frames bp. That's enough to get you to the 14 frames breakpoint for Berserk. You get a total of 65 IAS between the Maul and Gloves. Instead of WW (which I hate anyway), how about a Berserk Barb? Obviously no AoE, but hear me out.

Remember that the gloves and belt will give 45 extra strength total when you have those two items equipped, so it isn't as bad as it seems (still a lot of str to equip the Maul). Is there any reason nobody mentioning this? Are there any options (apart from Ber rune, of course) that are just much better than socketing Hel? If I still decide to go with perfect Amethysts, it'll save me a whooping 54 Str, thus increasing my VIT without relying on charms. With its -15% Requirements it will reduce the STR requirement for the armor by 34 - which is more than 1.5 better than 2 perfect Amethysts socketed in the helm. But one option I haven't ever seen for the armor is Hel rune. Now I don't need MF on this character really, as I already do most of the MFing on my sorc. The armor itself for some reason doesn't list to many socketing options - the aforementioned Ber rune is one, the other is perfect Topaz for MF. Other say to socket perfect Amethysts into helm to help with STR requirements on the armor. Some suggest Ber runes, which is not an option for me, since I'm yet to find my first Ber rune ever. Guides I've found suggest vast variety of socketing options for different parts of the set. I've recently found IK armor in the Pits and with now full set I'm leveling a barb to try it out.
